Nonprofit Responses to Natural Disasters

Gathering nearly 60 attendees, PASO’s Spring 2025 Speaker Series on March 11 was a huge success, gaining much insight from six nonprofit organizations and their responses to natural disasters in Hawai‘i. Speakers included:

  • Ed Nishioka from Ronald McDonald House,
  • Brandy-Lee Yee from Ma’i Movement,
  • Sonny Ferreira from Lydia House,
  • Cynthia Au from the American Cancer Society,
  • Orlando Campbell from Aloha Harvest, and
  • Harley Didriksen from Aloha Tree Alliance.

All the speakers shared about their nonprofit’s mission and purpose, current projects, volunteer opportunities, how they supported the Maui fire, and why they love what they do. Nonprofits are essential to making a long-lasting impact in our community, and all the speakers were thrilled to have the opportunity to share their journey and network with everyone that evening. Mahalo to all those who attended!
