The Public Administration Student Organization (PASO) hosted its 2026 Spring Speaker Series on April 14, 2026, with an inspiring evening focused on nonprofits and human rights in Hawaiʻi. It was a fitting close to a semester of meaningful conversations that connected students to the realities of public service and advocacy.

The evening featured two outstanding speakers: Ethan Higa, Esq., Program Director II for General Immigration Services at Catholic Charities Hawaiʻi, and Sergio J. Alcubilla III, Community Engagement Director at the ACLU of Hawaiʻi. Together, they shared powerful perspectives on how nonprofit organizations advance justice, equity, and human dignity across our islands.

PASO extends heartfelt mahalo to our collaborating organizations — Catholic Charities Hawaiʻi and the ACLU of Hawaiʻi — for partnering to make this event possible. We also thank all students, faculty, and community members who joined us for this memorable conclusion to our Spring Speaker Series. We look forward to continuing these important conversations in the semesters to come.
