Admissions and Application Timelines

Master of Public Administration (MPA)

  • Fall Admission Only
  • Application deadline: April 30

Graduate Certificate (Nonprofit Management | Public Policy)

  • Fall and Spring Admissions
  • Application deadline for Fall admissions: April 30
  • Application deadline for Spring admissions: November 1

Applicants who apply after the application deadlines MUST consult with PUBA before applying.

No GRE or GMAT is required.


Applications for Fall and Spring Admission (MPA and Graduate Certificate)

Prospective MPA and Graduate Certificate students must complete the online UH Graduate Division Application.

  • Be sure to select the correct semester when applying.
    • MPA applicants can only apply for the Fall semester.
  • Application Fee: Required.
  • GRE: Not required.

  • Personal Statement
  • Writing Sample
  • Letters of Recommendation
    • Two (2) letters of recommendation are required.
    • One letter should be from a former professor in your undergraduate or graduate major.
  • Deadline: April 30 (for all materials, including letters).
